Your first two weeks: the ballots

Eight stories, eight ballots. Here they are in one place, with the live count of what readers chose.

Our verdict

This is where your votes become a result. Every ballot from the first eight stories is below, with the count updated each time someone votes.

Every F4SHN.HAUS story ends with a ballot: two choices, one click. This page collects the first eight. The percentages next to each question are counted live from every vote cast on the site, so this page changes as you read it.

Why we ask

Fashion magazines tell you what is in. We would rather also know what you actually want to wear. Lyst, the shopping platform, publishes a quarterly ranking of the hottest brands built from the searches and purchases of its users; in the second quarter of 2026 it was led by Chanel, Miu Miu and Dior.1 Our index is the reader version of that idea: not what sells, but what you choose when you are asked.

There is a second reason. Stitch Fix, the online styling service, built a game in which customers rate single pieces with a thumbs up or down, and collected around 200 million ratings that way.2 Small choices, made often, describe taste better than any long questionnaire. That is the idea behind STYLERZ, the fashion app we are building, and behind every ballot on this site.

How to read the count

  • Each ballot shows two options and the share each one has.
  • The number of votes is shown next to it. A result based on a handful of votes can still swing; a result based on hundreds is a trend.
  • You can vote once per ballot from each browser. Votes are anonymous.

Our verdicts, for comparison

We gave our own ruling in each story. On barn jackets in town we said wear it. On the skirt suit we said the office. On brooches we said comeback. On the camel coat we gave both black and cream a fair chance. Below, you can see whether readers agree with us.

Our verdicts are opinions. Your votes are the result.

What happens next

At the end of each month we publish The Monthly Ranking: the ballots of the month, ranked by how clear the result was. The Friday Edit, our weekly letter, carries one new ballot every week. If you would like your votes to shape what we write next, the list is at the bottom of this page.
